Participants can pick up their personal congress material at the
registration desk, which is open at Finlandia Hall (street address: Mannerheimintie 13e) entrance M4 follows:

Name badges and entry tickets

Participants and accompanying persons are obliged to wear the official
congress name badges in all congress events. A fee will be charged for
reproduction of lost name badges. Entry tickets for the social events should
be shown upon entrance to each event.

Language
 The congress language is English. There is no simultaneous interpretation.
 |
Dress code
 Dress code is casual throughout the congress and social events, and smart
casual for the congress dinner.

Lunch and refreshments
 Coffee and tea in the exhibition area during the breaks are included in the
registration fees. Lunch is not included in the participants’ registration
fee. Light lunches can be purchased at your own cost at Finlandia Hall. In
addition, several lunch restaurants are available in the surrounding areas.

Exhibition
 The commercial exhibition takes place in the main lobby area (2nd floor).
Access to the exhibition is free for registered participants. The exhibition
is open throughout the congress hours. > See floor plan on and

Posters
 The poster areas are located in the main lobby area (2nd and 3rd floors).
Access to the poster areas is free for registered participants and
exhibitors. > See floor plan and

Certificate of attendance
 All participants receive a certificate of attendance in the congress bag.

Speaker’s rooms and PowerPoint presentations

Speaker’s room is located on the 2nd floor in room 29 (> see floor plan).
Minor modifications of PowerPoint presentations can also be done in the
speaker’s room. PowerPoint presentations should be delivered at the latest 3
hours before the starting time of the session or during the day before your
presentation.

Congress assistants
 Congress assistants and in-house technical staff are assisting in practical
issues in the lecture halls before and during the sessions (e.g. setting up
the presentations on the computers and handing microphones for questions).
 |
Photographer
 A photographer will document the main congress events and photographs will
be available after the congress through the congress website.
 |
Photographing, recording and mobile phones
 Photographing or recording of oral presentations is not allowed. Mobile
phones and communicators must be switched off in the lecture halls since
they may interfere with the audio system of the halls.

Internet connections
 Wireless internet connection is available at Finlandia Hall in the lobby
areas. In addition, workstations are provided on the first floor by the
organisers for email access. Please limit the use to 10 minutes at a time to
allow also other participants to access their emails.

Cloakroom
 Cloakroom is available free of charge next to the main entrance M4 on the
ground floor.
 |
Non-smoking policy
 Smoking is prohibited in the congress and exhibition areas. In Finland,
smoking is not allowed indoors in public buildings and other places open to
the public, except in designated smoking areas.
 |
Underground excavations
due to extension of Finlandia Hall and its parking facilities
 Because of extension of Finlandia Hall and its underground parking
facilities, there will be daily excavations in the underground tunnels near
Finlandia Hall. We hope that the short but loud noises caused by the
underground excavations will not alarm you. The organisers and Finlandia
Hall staff apologize for any inconvenience.

Currency and credit cards
 The official currency in Finland is euro (EUR). Most major credit cards are
accepted in hotels and shops. VISA, Eurocard and MasterCard are accepted at
the congress registration desk. Personal or company cheques are not accepted
at the registration desk or shops. Traveler’s cheques can be cashed in banks
and exchange bureaus.

Electricity
 Electricity supply in Finland is 220 volts (50 Hz), and wall outlets are the
Northern European Standard (CEE7/4) with two round contacts. The standard
two-pin Euro plug (CEE 7/16) can be connected to these outlets.
 |
Public transportation
 Helsinki has a good public transportation system. Buses and trams operate
frequently and stops are available next to Finlandia Hall on the main street
(Mannerheimintie). Each participant of IRPA 2010 congress receive a five-day
public transportation ticket free of charge.
 |
Emergencies and first aid
 The general emergency phone number is 112. You can call this number free of
charge from any phone, including foreign mobile phone connections, without
any area code. In genuine emergencies, when someones life, health or
property is in danger, just call 112.
 |
Liability
 By registering into the congress and / or by participating in the exhibition
joined to the congress, participants and exhibitors agree that neither the
organising committee nor the congress secretariat assume any responsibility
for damage or injuries to persons or property during the congress.
Participants and exhibitors are advised to organise their own insurance.
